During the First Feminist Meeting in Iruña, we found ourselves gathered together as women from or living in Aragon, Catalonia, and Valencia. Due to the breadth of the territory we represented, we felt that small, localized groups should be created for each location.

However, in Catalonia there already existed academic activity on the subject of witch hunts, as well as museum projects and research performed with a feminist perspective in the Lleida and Pyrenees areas. In addition, there are cases of women who were executed for witchcraft in the Early Modern Period now being remembered and honored. One example is in Sort (in the Pyrenees of Lleida), where action was taken on March 8, 2019 to put up a plaque with the name of a woman executed in the area. Another is in Terrassa, where the 8M Feminist Vaga Committee oragnized a Passejada for the memory of those killed in witch hunts on June 14, 2019.

We continue to investigate and write about the many existing cases, spaces of memory, and folkloric phenomena.
